Katie's dad (my father-in-law) let us borrow his brand new minivan. We have all our gear and a months worth of clothes (which fit in two backpacks) we pack light. We have been couch surfing and living at peoples houses. We're really grateful for all the people who have been going out of their way to help us out.
I feel like we go through this every year right around this time, and I think not having our own space kind of amplifies the whole situation.
For the last few years we've spent our winters working in Africa or touring overseas, then coming home and touring the USA. That's why we're probably tired. 8)
Hard to believe it's been 5 years since we were there last. Things are going to look a little different. For one, we wont be hitchhiking and bumming around. We have over 30 shows booked and so we'll be keeping quite busy.
New Zealand is the place where Katie and I decided that we would be together for the rest of our lives.
We came up with the idea that we would get home and buy a van, convert it to veggie oil and tour full time. Not staying in one place and rely on weekly gigs but instead commit to full time touring with the hopes that one day we'll be able to sustain ourselves.
Our time in NZ was such a magical time in our lives. We're really excited to go back and share our music.
Thanks again everybody. Love, Brian & Katie.
