Wanishi (thank you) EICC for bringing me to your campus last week. I enjoyed driving along the banks of the Mississippi River, and being close enough to take batting practice at Field of Dreams for sunrise.

It was an honor to travel through the homelands of Meskwaki Nation (Sac & Fox), Ho Chunk Nation, Inoka (Illinois), and others.

I had a blast performing at FHSU.

One of the best parts of the trip was getting to spend time with my Uncle and my cousins - all citizens of The Delaware Tribe of Indians (Lenape).

My cousin, Asia Elizabeth, bless her heart, volunteered to road trip across Kansas with me. She was my roadie, stagehand, photographer/videographer, navigator, and comic relief.

We drove 8 hours. Half way across Kansas, and back. Laughed the entire time. Only missed one exit.
We found the white buffalo, played some rock n’ roll, and then drove 21 hours straight back to Florida to make it in time for my next gig.

Wanishi (thank you) to the University of Evansville for bringing me to your campus.

My Lenape grandmother graduated from UE with a degree in fine arts. She met my grandfather (who was also a UE student) there before he deployed to the Korean War. After he came home, they built a life that led (eventually) to me.

My mom, my aunts, my uncles were all born in Evansville.

So to come here, along the banks of the Ohio River, as an artist, sharing my music, and sharing my heArt - it doesn’t feel like a straight line. It feels like a circle - or maybe even a spiral.
It feels like moving forward, while also returning.

Days like this remind me that I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be - thanks for being part of the journey.

Onward.

Yeah... the stoke is real for this one. I am beyond excited to head back to Salt Lake City for a special show with Jon O Raidio, Amanda Lynn Jones, and Simply B. I haven't been to SLC since 2019. This one is long overdue. Tickets go on sale tomorrow (Friday).
