Wanishi (thank you) to the University of Evansville for bringing me to your campus.
My Lenape grandmother graduated from UE with a degree in fine arts. She met my grandfather (who was also a UE student) there before he deployed to the Korean War. After he came home, they built a life that led (eventually) to me.
My mom, my aunts, my uncles were all born in Evansville.
So to come here, along the banks of the Ohio River, as an artist, sharing my music, and sharing my heArt - it doesn’t feel like a straight line. It feels like a circle - or maybe even a spiral.
It feels like moving forward, while also returning.
Days like this remind me that I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be - thanks for being part of the journey.
