All I can say is this show was amazing. The theatre was treated to a visual and audio record of his work as an artist, world traveler, humanitarian and tireless worker for social justice for all people of every race, creed and culture. One lyric that echoed in my head after the show was “You gotta lead with your heart, not with your fist” from his single "Power Of People."
Brian's show featured 12 videos (and six live songs) from his collection and each was a masterpiece of videography, music and content. All were a reminder of just how big the world is and how small (and sheltered) we are compared to it. The ultimate lessons in all of his pieces were 1) that if we come together we can accomplish anything and 2) doing things to help, even if just one kind gesture, can have a positive impact on many.
Brian's work also reflects the deep love he has for his family and of this country, (he will admit) regardless of bumps, bruises and imperfections. His single "Baby Girl" celebrates the life (and that of his family) of his daughter. And his piece "The Refugee" speaks to the challenges of leaving all that you know for a chance of freedom and life outside of a war zone.
Brian has stories to tell. He has grace. He has wisdom. And he loves his ability to share that with all who care to listen. We can all learn something from this man and his family.
Due to the first show selling out, Brian has added a second show Saturday February 15 at AMP.

Remember Brian's lesson #2: doing things to help, even if just one kind gesture, can have a positive impact on many.
