This song is about my Lenape Citizenship and the lessons I learned from Standing Rock (2016). The video is going back to my roots.
After incorporating a lot of Standing Rock footage in my last two music videos, I wanted to lean more on symbolism for this video. I went back to my origin, on the banks of the Little Miami River and at the Historic Loveland Castle, which are two places I spent a lot of time as a child. To me, the castle always represented something that can be built over the course of a career or lifetime. Sir Harry Andrews did it, and he did it for kids like me to be inspired. I met Katie on that river and you better believe I brought her to that castle on our first date. We had our first kiss there, and we got married there.
My cousin Abigail filmed everything at the Castle and my friend Silence filmed everything out in South Africa.
I picked a location between Table Mountain and Lions Head. In the valley between the long way and the hard way.
Thank you to everyone who has been following along. I hope you enjoy the new song and the new music video. We're three weeks away from the next new single.
